Camping In Steamboat Springs

Camping In Steamboat Springs

There are not a ton of great spots for Camping In Steamboat Springs. However, in 2020 we stopped at the KOA at the edge of town and fell in love with the spot. This year we booked the spot months in advance, took Andrew’s dad, and convinced some friends to join us. The location is so favorable because the free town shuttle stops in the park every 20 minutes.

At the campground, the kids swam, played putt-putt golf and chess, and played on the playground. The best part of the camp, in my opinion, is the Yampa river flowing through it with perfect little rapids for everyone to float around in.

There is so much to do in mountain towns during the summer. We pulled a list of activities and joined the crowds for several of them. The first night we went to the base area for an outdoor movie in the park! The town also has a couple of hot springs areas so we took the kids to the Old Town Hot Springs and they really loved that.

We enjoyed being so close to town and river access with our family and friends.
