First Stop In Weatherford, Texas

First Stop in Weatherford, Texas

Our first stop has been in the DFW area to visit with family and friends. We found a perfect “moochdocking” at our First Stop In Weatherford, Texas. Our friends live on several acres with chickens, cows, horses, barns, and a treehouse! Luckily, they are super generous AND they have three kids whose ages match up with our kiddos! We are parked about 50 yards from their house so the routine has been to wake up, eat breakfast, then homeschool a little. Once the morning wraps up, we open the camper door and let the kids play between the camper and house. Dreamy.

Having their house as a shared space has also been nice because the weather has been cold and rainy. It’s obvious we need to get used to dealing with bad weather on our own, but not yet!

Being out here with our friends has been a very easy and fun first stop. Here on the farm, we have power and water hook-ups and can leak our grey and black tanks into the pasture we are parked in. They even let us use their barn bathroom for #2! (Oh, the things you never think about unless you’re camping….). Our kids are probably thinking it’s normal to have BFFS next door and acres of fun to play on, but we’ll work through that later. Another convenient thing about our first parking spot: we have been able to make day trips and a few overnight trips to Mimi & Papa’s house and the cousins’!

The 5th-Wheel Life: Week 1

Starting the trip in Weatherford, Texas, has helped us start to get used to our space while having the option to utilize a home if needed. It’s been a treat to start cooking, cleaning, schooling, sleeping, and living in this thing. So far, we LOVE her. There is plenty of space, and we are warm at night!
