The New Adventures Begins
As we pulled away from our home of the past 12 1/2 years, I wanted to document my feelings. I think itâs going to be important for me (personally) to look back on how I felt as The New Adventures Begins.
This past week was crazy. It was moving and packing week! As always, I underestimated the amount of energy and effort it would take. I ignorantly thought that because we had been downsizing for a year+ packing up would not take very long. When will I learn? Also, work got extremely busy which is a wonderful thing, but the timing could not have been more obnoxious. Andrew was totally out of pocket this week so the move relied 99% on me until the last minute.Â
Between moving and saying goodbye to our friends, it was nuts. The last two days were almost laughable, but thankfully Andrew was able to jump in. It was so nice to have him and our friends do the heavy lifting! We got everything out of the house and stored the few things we hope to keep when/if we settle down. And then, the fun part was organizing the camper.
The Last Few Days
The last week in Denver was a blur. The biggest takeaway, however, is how sweet itâs was to say âgoodbyeâ to some of our very best and dear friends. Weâve had some really incredible times with the people that we love. It is ‘goodbye moments’ that help remind us of the things that we endear about the people we’ve chosen to surround ourselves with. This week has brought a lot of tears of joy and sadness as we said goodbye. Itâs been sweet to exchange words that I wish we exchanged more often about how much we love our friends and the parts that are so good about our friendship. I remembered how much will physically miss time with these incredible people. We are so so lucky.Â
At this moment I am sleep deprived, physically tired, and so overwhelmed with love. These mix of emotions all collided the morning we left… into tears. As we pulled away from those gorgeous Rocky Mountains that we fell in love with over a decade ago I felt gratitude, excitement, fear, worry, anxiety, gratitude, love, and mostly just pure excitement for the adventure ahead.Â
So thankful for this plan and for all the doors to continue to open to allow us to make the moves necessary to pull our house behind us for this next year.Â
